Brand Breakdown: The Barista Boss Beverage Co.
Brewing Up a Brand from Scratch
When The Barista Boss Beverage Co. approached me, they were just getting their mobile coffee business off the ground in Conway and Myrtle Beach, SC. With no existing branding and a tight timeline, they needed a logo that was not only eye-catching, but also captured their approachable, neighborhood-friendly vibe. My mission? Deliver a standout look fast—but without sacrificing strategy or style.
The Challenge
The Barista Boss had a name, a mobile cart, and a vision—but no visual identity. They wanted something that felt unique and welcoming, yet still fit the local personality. Their customer base ranges from beachgoers grabbing cold brews to downtown shoppers on the hunt for a morning pick-me-up. The brand had to feel versatile, unfussy, and memorable.
The Concepts
Since the client wasn’t sure what direction to go in, I presented three distinct logo options to kick things off:
- Rustic & Textural: Inspired by vintage signage and weathered woodgrain. Think old-school general store meets small-town coffee joint.
- Softly Rustic: A middle-ground look—still warm and tactile, but a little cleaner and more modern.
- Modern & Minimal: Clean lines, sans-serif type, and a bold mark with urban coffee shop appeal.

As is often the case, the final direction merged elements from two of the concepts—the modern version’s clean layout with the rustic vibe’s character and charm.
The Solution
The final logo blends clean typography with organic textures, reflecting the flexibility of their mobile setup while giving them a strong, recognizable brand. I paired it with a cozy, grounded color palette—warm browns, soft creams, and a pop of deep espresso—to evoke the comfort of a great cup of coffee on a cool morning.

Real-Life Impact
While I no longer live in Conway, I still catch glimpses of the logo out in the wild—on cups, carts, and Instagram stories shared by friends and family. It’s incredibly rewarding to see branding come to life, especially when it’s fueling real small business momentum.
